We opened in 1928. The first owner started Kappou style restaurant. Many cultural people has loved as a part of Itamae Kappou. Our foods are not so processed by man that you can feel natural taste.
Connoisseur and skills are demanded for coooking them. The third owner catches up the current needs and reproduce the original taste. Based on the experence of the forth owner who traveled around 70 countries including Islamic regions such as Africa and the Middle East during school life, we got Halal certificate from Kyoto Council for Sharia and Halal Affairs in 2014. In the same year, "Halal Cooks" is also recognized. You can enjoy real halal Kyoto plates.(menus are updated every 1-2month). Since 2009 when Michelin Kyoto was issued, we has been keeping stars. From May to September, Noryodoko(summer floor) is available. You can spend time here with seasonal Kyoto dishes along with the flow of Kamogawa river.
