We opened in 1928. The first owner started Kappou style restaurant. Many cultural people have loved it as a part of Itamae Kappou. Our foods are not so processed by a man that you can feel the natural taste.
Connoisseurs and skills are demanded cooking them. The third owner catches up with the current needs and reproduces the original taste. Based on the experience of the fourth owner who traveled to around 70 countries including Islamic regions such as Africa and the Middle East during school life, we got a Halal certificate from Kyoto Council for Sharia and Halal Affairs in 2014. In the same year, "Halal Cooks" is also recognized. You can enjoy real halal Kyoto plates. (menus are updated every 1-2 months). Since 2009 when Michelin Kyoto was issued, we have been keeping stars. From May to September, Noryodoko(summer floor) is available. You can spend time here with seasonal Kyoto dishes along with the flow of the Kamogawa river.
*Closing day may change. Please check the calendar on the link below.

Nestled in the peace and quiet of Mt. Yoshida, Yoshida-sanso was originally built by master craftsmen to serve as the second residence of Prince Higashi-Fushimi, the uncle of the current Japanese emperor, Akihito. An elegant blend of East and West, the architecture reflects the refined and sophisticated taste embraced by forward-looking members of the Imperial Family during the early Showa era. We at Yoshida-sanso invite you to come and experience the true essence of Kyoto, Japan's noble capital of grace and culture.
The Kyoto style Fucha vegetarian dishes from KangaAN use oil cleverly, and are related to medical cooking. The ingredients are also very healthy, and it is said that virtuous priest of Obaku, school of Zen Buddhism lived a long life by eating these. Fucha originally referred to a tea ceremony in which four people sat across from each other at a table and eat one item from each dish without being served. KangaAN added our original twist to this simple zen meal style and prepared a course that may be enjoyed from two customers or more in order to spread the traditional flavors of three hundred years that the Cloistered Emperor Gomizunoo loved to the rest of the world. Nourishing your body with food in peace surrounded by the mountains will be sure to lead to vital healthy lifestyle. Please come enjoy the “hannari” atmosphere unique to Kyoto. Please be advised that reservation is required.
